I wake up with numb fingers

Posted by Gagsy - November 23rd, 2009

It just finally clicked with me that this could be a concern for my health.

I assume that I just end up sleeping on my hands and this causes them to numb up but I don't know.

Has anyone else ever had something like that? I used to get it near enough often, a few times a week then nothing for ages then all of a sudden last night I got it like 3 times.

My little left finger seems to get it the most, and when it happens I literally can't feel a thing in the finger, I actually wonder if it could break and I wouldn't feel the pain of it. Then I try to move the fingers to rid the numbness and it seems to take a while with my fingers uselessly flapping down. Then pins and needles comes and eventually they are fine.

I don't know though, should I be concerned? Should I try not sleeping on my stomach? Though I do sleep on sides half the time anyway.

It's very strange.

It happens all the time, you just slept on it weird or something... I asked my friend what to do in that situation and he said-

it's the perfect time to give yourself a "stranger" :O

Yawn. Call me when you start getting pins and needles in your cunt. :3

...I mean, that sucks. But it's probably nothing. One time I woke up in the middle of the night with really bad cramps in my leg. I couldn't move my leg and it was sort of tightened up and hurting like fuck. I tried rubbing my leg but as I passed my fingers over my lower thigh I could feel the leg muscles under my skin tightened up, which hurt even more. I managed to get my sheets off me and I tried to stand up but my leg wouldn't hold. I fell onto the floor and dragged myself to the other side of the room. I used the door handle to pull myself up and turn the light switch on. I was able to hobble back to my bed cluching anything and everything as I went passed. I tried to rub my leg, to warm up the muscles and stretch them out. It took quite a while before the pain left my leg and I could put my weight on it to turn the light off again and go back to sleep.

True story.

are you hot?

I have had the problem where my toes went numb for a few hours. I thought I slept in a weird position but it was just some random numbness. I knew I didn't sleep on it because when it usually happens I feel pins and needles and then it goes back to normal. You shouldn't be concerned.

Probably not, I wake up with my hand or foot numb as hell all the time.

sleep on me. that'll solve everything.

Like pesticide said you might have a slight problem with your circulatory system, or maybe your blood pressure is lower than it should be.

Go see a GP, might as well get it checked.

Better safe than sorry, innit ?
