There are so many buildings in the city you never get to see the sunset...
This is why it's nice where I'm living atm. It's like on a hill and I walk down it to work, it's all built up with houses still but you can see much more because you're higher.
Reminds me of my own town's sunsets. I also live on a hill (kinda), and it's beautiful to come home and see that. Pink skies are lovely. ^^

I love taking night walks during the summer. I live in Maine, and so it's next-to silent. In fact, I enjoy it so much that during Christmas break I'll sometimes go out on, say, a Wednesday night at 3AM, and there's absolutely nobody. Except for the occasional cop every half an hour or so. It's amazing.
In fact, once I went out while it was snowing, and I was standing on the busiest street in my neighborhood, and all I could hear was the occasional, distant "ping" of a hard piece of snow hitting a stop sign.
Silence is so priceless.
There aren't many places in the US I want to visit but Maine is certainly one of them. It's a beautiful place. I envy you!
I agree about the night walking though. The darker and later it gets the more I tend to enjoy being outside. Call me insane but especially when the weather is horrid too (raining, cold, snow). I just find it so.. therapeutic I guess. Just me and the dog, not much else, though I do like to take my music too so I don't have to listen to the cars down the roads (sadly I live in a busy town), but yeah silence really is priceless. I enjoy it a lot.
